Course Description

This course is designed to assist clinicians that use the electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) as a tool to monitor the heart during testing and/or as part of patient record review during a screening and chart review process.  The course will first review normal anatomy and electrophysiology of the heart, and then discuss the abnormal electrical problems created by coronary artery disease and/or heart failure and associated arrhythmias.  The more common arrhythmias are illustrated and discussed with respect to the pathological effect they have on the part or portion of the heart muscle and its function.
